Day 5: 115 miles from Prineville, OR → John Day, OR

Today was a long ride through the mountains of eastern Oregon in beautiful terrain on good roads. For me it was partly about numbers, as it was the longest ride and contained both the longest steady climb (30 miles) and the longest descent (26 miles) I’ve ever done on a bike. It was all on one road, Route 26. Even now a couple of hours afterwards, it seems like that whole ride could not have just happened. I’m tired.
